Ambitious and determined Ida Sinclair steps off the train in Cripple Creek, Colorado with one agenda – to work for acclaimed business woman, Mollie O’Bryan. She refuses to let any man, or woman, stop her from the fame and fortune she has dreamed of since first entering business school.
When her family begins warning her about Mollie’s unscrupulous business practices, Ida wonders if there is more to her role model than she bargained for.
And what about the two men vying for her attention? Ida’s focused on launching her career, but it’s hard to ignore the dashing lawyer or the kindhearted traveling preacher.
It was fun to read a novel based on a young business school graduate determined to make her way in the world – reminded me a little bit of myself!
The setting took place in the booming gold mining days of the West and focused on the stock market and investors who flocked there in hopes of striking a big fortune. The author’s knowledgeable research provided the reader with many accurate historical details, while still bringing fictional characters to life.
Too Rich for a Bride had a few unpredictable twists and the varying plot lines made this book an interesting read. I am looking forward to more from this newly discovered author!
